How does a tarot reading work?
Tarot has 78 cards, and each means something in the place where it falls. Start with a simple question.
Seventy-eight cards
A tarot deck has two parts: twenty-two Major Arcana, the great turning points of life (the World, the Star, the Tower…), and fifty-six Minor Arcana in four suits — cups, coins, swords and wands — that speak of everyday life.
The spreads
A one-card reading gives a short answer. The three-card spread shows the past, present and future of the question; the five-card one shows the situation, the obstacle, the advice, the influences and the outcome. A card that falls reversed shows its meaning another way.
How to ask
Ask an open question, like "what is changing for me this season?". Tarot makes no firm promise; it is a mirror that helps you see better for yourself.
